We’re so close to successfully furnishing our entire house from estate sales, yard sales, and Goodwill. Our once-empty house is starting to fill up!
The past few weeks have been filled with some great Goodwill finds-including some furniture scores.
Every time I post a new Goodwill find on Instagram, someone asks which Goodwill they should go to. The “secret” isn’t necessarily always which Goodwill you go to, but how often you go to Goodwill. (For those curious, I visit the one on Memorial in Murfreesboro most frequently!) 50% of the time I leave empty-handed, but through shopping there excessively, you’ll start leaving with some fun finds.
Honestly, our main Goodwill advantage is my mom! Whenever she visits Goodwill, I’ll get texts of pictures, & we get a lot of our things that way. Tip: Have a Goodwill companion who knows what you’re looking for & sends you pictures on their Goodwill trips!
I’m currently writing a post in my head titled “Goodwill Shopping Tips,” so stay tuned.
The first picture in the post was the most shocking find, 2 beautiful upholstered chairs!
In the second picture, that botanical print was found at the Franklin, TN Goodwill! Another one of my favorites is our side table (in the 3rd picture). I’m finding that since our ceilings are so tall, most of our furniture ends up looking short, so this tall side table turned out to be the perfect size.
Here’s a shot of some random finds. I find that when I pick up things that I love, they typically end up going together.
I thought this white container was super cute. Since we’ve got a hunter in the house, we need some nods to the outdoors. (The mini brass duck was a yard sale find from this past summer!)
2 more Goodwill frames. (The print was a Christmas gift!)
I love the look of a collected gallery wall, so every time I stop in Goodwill, I look through their art. This week I added two more pieces to the collection.
My craziest Goodwill purchase would probably have to be this almost-9-foot framed whiteboard. I plan on either making it a cork board or chalkboard to hang over Elijah’s workspace in his future shop. We’ll see, haha!
Last thing, I just had to share a quick shot of the curtains Elijah & I ordered this week! (Not a Goodwill score!) The other panels are coming in soon & we’re itching to get them hung up. The master bedroom is starting to feel so real. A bed. & now curtains….!
I hope this post inspired you to start furnishing or updating your house with thrift finds! If you have any questions, drop them below & I’ll try to answer them in our future “How to Shop at Goodwill” post!
