Front Door Trim, Snow Days, & The Last Found Friday!

This week started out super productive on Saturday when Elijah & Elijah installed the trim around our front door. (My Elijah & our amazingly helpful friend Elijah!) Those guys were out there in the freezing temperatures all day just working away.

It looks SO good! Old houses seem to make every project a tad more complex, yet they still nailed it.

We are painting the trim the same color as the house, Silos White. I can’t wait for it to get above freezing temps so I can paint it already!

What started as a super productive week, quickly turned into a week filled with snow day after snow day, reliving the glory days of our elementary-school snow days. Tuesday afternoon Elijah & I found a hill behind a high school & went sledding down about a hundred times. The next morning we made plans to meet up with some friends to sled at the same spot, which turned into an entire day of it. We drove from spot to spot, maybe even with the ranger on the main roads for a minute….

We took a lunch break on the Square at my favorite sandwich spot in Murfreesboro, Dominico’s. You can get your sandwich hot, so it’s the perfect snow day lunch. You also get a view of the courthouse while you eat, which just adds to the feel-good nostalgia of the day.

The next day, the snow gang met up at our house at 10AM. We sought out to build the biggest snowman in Murfreesboro (in only an hour’s time frame), and ended up with a 7 footer. We laughed at how all 4 of us were working on the base, while Warren single-handedly made the middle tier the exact same size in the same amount of time. All we had were Brussel Sprouts for the eyes, but we all agreed it added a nice pop of color. We received a picture later that day of a 10 foot snowman…oh well. We still came up with reasons as to why ours was better & made the excuse that we only had an hour…

I just love how every time someone passes our house, it looks like our giant snowman is trying to give them a big hug.

After that, we headed to Mount Juliet for some redneck, TN snow day fun. Tubing behind the Rhino, sledding down back roads, making sledding trails through the woods. At one point, we all acknowledged the amount of things we should be doing, but quickly agreed that this is a once in a 20-year experience for us Tennesseans. Though no one mentioned it, we also all know this is our last chance to play all day for us 20-somethings, so might as well make these days memorable.

As I type this, we’re making plans to meet up again this morning for Day #4 in the snow. I think we are headed to MTSU’s Greek Row hill. Time to master our sled-train.

Last Found Friday (Week 20)

Well, Found Friday’s have been so fun, but with the house thrifting search slowing down, it’s time to wrap up Found Fridays for now!

I felt like Found Friday Week 20 would be the perfect way to end on a high note. Instead of offering a new collection, we’ve put everything left in the Etsy shop 50% OFF!

There’s still some super cute things left from past collections, so be sure to head to the shop to check them out! A few of my favorite things are still left, like these black & white prints for a gallery wall or this brown striped stoneware bowl!

Click here to visit the shop! Hope you enjoy.

As always, thanks for reading! We’re so happy you stopped by. Stay warm & have a great weekend!
